NO MORE ALONE – PEDIATRIC PALLIATIVE CARE: A RIGHT AND A DUTY

For the 13 th edition of the competition, the association collaborated with the Maruzza Foundation on a very important theme: pediatric palliative care. The objective of the competition was to create a campaign to increase public awareness of the value of Pediatric Palliative Care (PPC) which aims at supporting families with children affected by incurable diseases, claiming their right to access PPC and the development of a support network in all the regions of Italy. The winning campaign entitled “This is not a fairy tale” was created by the creative couple Itziar Soto, Art Director and Valeria Polanco Torres, Copywriter, students of NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, under the guidance of their tutor for Art Direction, Professor Filippo Maria Rieder.
Their creative idea, based on the concept that real life is not a fairy tale, utilizes an unexpected tale to represent reality as it is and to emphasize the importance of PPC.

The campaign is in support of the project promoted by the Maruzza Foundation, to not leave alone the approximately thirty thousand children in Italy who suffer from an incurable disease of which today only 5% have access to the care to alleviate their physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual suffering, which is for them and their families, a right provided for by law. The campaign also encourages the public to sign the petition “At home is better”, launched by the Maruzza Foundation.
